Cycle along 200 kms of cycle paths and quiet side roads around beautiful Lake Balaton; spend your evenings eating great food and drinking great wine.
The cycle route around the lake runs close to the lakeside, past holiday resorts, villages and skirts the larger towns of Siófok, Keszthely and Balatonfüred. The terrain on the South side of the lake is generally flat whilst on the North side has rolling hills with an occasional testing climb. As agriculture and wine production are the major industries around the lake you'll ride past vineyards, wine cellars and traditional Hungarian restaurants with wonderful views across the lake. The route is suitable for all levels and ages of riders and is as safe as cycling can be. Come for just the cycling or combine your cycling with evenings in wine cellars sampling our wonderful local wines. Look at sample rides. Bring your bike or hire one here. Bike hire around Lake Balaton is about £10 per day. BA presently does not charge extra for bikes but most other airlines do. Free guided rides or unguided, the choice is yours. Our self catering apartments price in September is 50 Euros per apartment per day, i.e. only 12.5 Euros per person per day based on two couples sharing an apartment.
