Cycle route description

This route takes you from Balatonboglár along side roads beside the lake to Balatonlelle, then on the main road away from the lake to Látrány.

After Látrány, the left turn towards Visz and Andocs should be taken. This is the start of a very pleasant ride though the Hungarian countryside but care should be take as the road is uneven and in fairly bad condition in places.

There is a fairly tough climb up the hill just past Visz. Chateau Visz is near the top of the hill. After that, the cycling is easier with rolling countryside rather than major hills.

At the junction in Karád, turn right towards Andocs.

At the junction at Andocs, with the church in front of you, take the left turn up the hill. The cafe on the right hand side of the road about 100 metres from the junction is a pleasant place to stop for a break.

Next comes the ride towards Pusztaszemes, Köröshehgy and Balatonföldvár.

When you have passed under the motorway bridge at Köröshehgy continue into the town until you see a church on the left, and a left turning towards Balatonföldvár. Take the turning in front of the church and cycle on into Balatonföldvár. When you come to a junction crossing the main road to Siófok, take the right turning, then immediately the next left, down the hill to the Balaton lakeside.

Once you are back by the lake, turn left and continue on the Balaton cycle route to Balatonboglár.
